It's no secret that most of the Sims fans agree Sims 2 was near perfection. aybe it is the optimist in me, but I don't really see how it is so much of a business loss. The first two are basically "Lite" versions of The Sims 2 with some expansion content included (though the Stories games are *not* compatible with The Sims 2 expansions) while Castaway Stories affords it own unique experience and is grossly underrated.I guess that is true from a business perspective - though there are countless of guides out there on getting Sims 2 to work on modern OS, I'm sure somebody can think of something.īut even so.
I would love to see the Stories games on GOG as well, namely Life Stories, Pet Stories, and Castaway Stories. I loved the (earlier) GBA and DS games too, however, the latter instalments on those platforms ended up being absolute abominable garbage (especially The Sims 2: Pets on DS, which looked and played like an incomplete uni game design project). I knew it was going down the toilet about halfway in its lifespan as EA's greed knew no bounds (and they screwed up the Australian retail releases by using UK builds from Celebration onward as opposed to the US version, which would screw up our save files unless going into the Registry Editor to fix it manually).
